What Does A Hard Knot On Lower Back Indicate?

About three months ago I discovered a hard small knot on my lower back just left of my spine....one morning I got up and was leaning againagainst counter and hit the not it is now purple extremely painful and has grown to the size of a golf ball not sure what it is

If yes then it may be boil or sebecious cyst..
