Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just developed a strange fleshy flap that seems to have partially disconnected or caved in to my tonsil on the right side. I have never had tonsil stones or tonsillitis that I am aware of and it happened suddenly. I went all day without noticing anything strange and then a couple hours ago I noticed a strange sensation in the back of my mouth. It creates a strange sensation when I swallow. What could this be/is it potentially dangerous? How can I remedy this?
As per your query you have symptoms of the flap of skin on the tonsil which seems to be due to inflammation leading to tonsillitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you do warm saline gargles on a daily basis. You should take antibiotic Amoxicillin in combination with anti-inflammatory medication. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get throat swab test done and go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid oily, sharp food and cold beverages. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
