Hello. I have a cyst in my upper lip under my nose. I ve had it since Saturday at 3pm. For most of the day Sunday i rinsed with warm salt water and i also applied a warm rag on the area as well. The cyst has grown bigger under my lip as if it is pushing it s way out. Was is the next step?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

A cyst on the inside of the upper lip that is increasing in size can be a mucous cyst or mucocele..

It can occur due to trauma to minor salivary gland or obliteration to the duct of minor salivary glands..

So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination can be done..

In case if it is a Mucocele then doing concentrated salt water rinses can help..
If it does not regress with it then it has to be surgically excised..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
