I being a surgeon, have come across various such cases.. I would like to tell you various possibilities of that swelling. 1. Could be a simple cyst, that develops due to heat or any infection 2. Sebaceous cyst, which is due to oil gland blockage 3. Folliculitis, due to infection of a hair follicle. Anyway, I suggest you these things.. 1. Do not handle it with your hand, it may lead to further damage and infection 2. Start on oral antibiotics. Amox clav 625mg twice a day for 5 to 7 days should be sufficient. It will clear the infection existing. 3. Pain killers as per your need. 4. If it s sebaceous cyst, then you need excision because they are prone to recur. Neosporin is a good idea but no ice.
