What Does A Bump On The Vein Around The Elbow Indicate?

I was riding a bike and noticed a small (between 1/16 and 1/8 in diameter) bump on a vein/artery near my elbow. I pushed on it and it went away. Is it anything to be concerned with. I am 55 and recently had a check-up with low cholesterol, normal blood pressure, and a low heart rate that is normal. Anything to worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

The small bum on a blood vessel near your elbow could be a clogged vein. As you did a blood check up recently, then, this bump makes me think of a clogged vein at the site of injection.
A photo will help more.

So far, nothing to worry about. If it won't get away in a few days, consult with your physician and run ultrasound of soft tissues.

Hope this helps.
