What Does A Boil On Thigh Oozing Clear Sticky Fluid Indicate?

I have a thigh boil for about one month, I treated it with hot pad and it came to start leaking pus. Squeezed it all out yesterday until blood shown. Put betadine on it with bandaid. Today it is oozing a clear watery, sticky fluid. No pain and no temperature at any time.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain a boil is an infection of the hair follicle or an oil gland leading to formation of an abscess or a pus filled boil..
In case if it is leaking clear fluid it is indicating that the healing is taking place as clear fluid moistens the surface of the lesion and help in healing.
In case if still there is some sticky discharge it means that the infection has not completely resolved and you still need to continue the treatment..
You can clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply a Triple antibiotic ointment over it..
You need not to bandage it and let it dry open..
You should avoid moisture exposure to the area..
Keep the area dry and clean..
In case if it still does not resolve in a week you can consult a General Physician and get evaluated and if needed he can advise you an oral antibiotic course..
