General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I assume the condition you are talking about is temporal arteritis. The biopsy will help confirm this condition as there are changes in the vessel wall that can be seen under the microscope.

Once confirmed, it will be possible to put you on the appropriate medicines. The usual protocol includes giving steroids. It is a minor procedure and there is nothing for you to worry about.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
