What Does A 4-5 Pounds Of Weight Gain Everyday And Chest Pains Indicate?

My husband has been gaining anywhere from 1 - 4 pounds a day, shortness of breath and occasionally chest pains. He passed a stress test, barely, has a slight elevation in liver levels, high cholesterol and the MTHFR gene. What do these symptoms sound like could be the problem?

hello there
I understand your concern

Your husband may be undergoing a congestive heart failure .MTHFR gene may be contributory but not the actual cause. the gain in weight comes from the heart failure leading to ascites .
He must be seen in the ER..

Hope that helps
