What Does RBC Count In The Widal Test Report Suggest?
One child 5 years and 11 months, widal test is showing Salmonella Typhi O at 1:160 and Salmonella Typhi H at 1:160. His RBC is 4.27 Heamoglobin is 11 Serum Bilirubin conjugated is 0.16. Is he suffering from Typhoid and what treatment should be followed
Hello and welcome to HCM, Widal test showing antibodies against O and H antigen in titres up to 1:160 suggest infection with Salmonella typhi or presence of typhoid infection. You need to consult your physician for treatment of typhoid fever. Hemoglobin level of 11 gm% is low and it suggests anemia. Complete hemogram along with peripheral blood examination is required to know the cause of low hemoglobin. Serum bilirubin level (conjugated) of 0.16 is normal value.
