The leucocyte count in your urine is higher than the normal range. This may be due to infection or inflammation in the urinary tract or due to contaminated sample. As you are known diabetic with poor control, there is increased chance of
urinary tract infection. Moreover, any infection can alter your blood
glucose control.
Secondly, you are symptomatic too.
Hence, my advice will be-
1. Plenty of oral fluid+ maintenance of local hygiene
2. Investigation- total and differential
wbc count of blood sample, urine culture & sensitivity testing
3. Stringent blood sugar control
4. If you are febrile or having progressively increasing symptoms you have to start antimicrobial treatment to prevent complicated uti.
5. Broad spectrum antibiotic to be started after sending the samples for investigation.
6. Specific antimicrobial treatment after sensitivity report.
7. Lastly, please mention your diet and lifestyle for further advice. If you are on diet and lifestyle modification alongwith medication, blood for
HBA1c needs to be tested to modify your medication for
diabetes.
