Hi,
FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) are hormones secreted from pituitary for maintenance of normal cycles. If you are skipping periods or not getting it, a central cause of pituitary needs to be ruled out as you said that you are not menopausal.
This test, particularly FSH also helps in identify if there is any problem with the ovary or in the pituitary.
If levels are elevated, it indicates ovarian disorder or menopause.
If levels are reduced it could be due to pituitary failure.
Hope it helped.
If you have any further queries, happy to help again.
