Hi, I recently did a TB test and I got my results today. I have a 20mm swelling and it still seems to be growing a little. My doctor has asked me back for a blood test but has been very vague on what this could mean. So my question is, what does a 20mm swelling mean?
You have undergone mantoux test. Reading 20 mm or more suggests positive mantoux result. This test is done for tuberculosis.Positive result means you are infected with tuberculosis either past infection, latent infection or due to immunization etc. Your condition need other methods to confirm tuberculosis. You need all the screening procedures for tuberculosis like routine hemogram,Chest X-ray (PA view),Sputum examination,PCR if needed. Hope i have answered your query.
