What Does 20mm Spiculated Lesion In Upper Left Lobe Of Lung Indicate?
My 81 year old mother has been diagnosed, following a CT scan, with having a 20mm Spiculated lesion in the upper left lobe of her lung. My mother is currently being treated for breast cancer, which is nearly all gone following 9 months treatment with Anastrazole. Mum also has COPD. The Radiographers report suggests that this lesion has a high possibility of being a neoplasm and that Mum isn t a good candidate for biopsy. Can anyone please help me make sense of all that? Is a 2cm lung cancer bad? What treatment is possible bearing in mind the suggestion of no surgery and Mum has COPD? What kind of life expectancy can we expect for our beautiful Mum?
1.Report suggest a speculated lesion of 20mm in the left lung upper lobe - possibility of malignancy. 2.The lesion description with the margins suggest of malignant features - but it not confirmative unless it is biopsy proven. 3.In this case if you are not in a condition to get a biopsy - you need to get a CECT - contrast enhanced computer tomography. 4.That will will give more information than the present radiogram - also clarifies if its a infective, old treated lesion. 5.Possibilities of metastasis also need to be ruled out in a known case of breast malignancy.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
