What Doe Ear Discomfort With Cold & Congestion Suggest?

Hello I'm a 39yr old male and was sick three weeks ago with a typical cold and conjestion and have yet to shake it off. The first night i slept on my left side the entire night and looking back i feel that my have contributed to my current issue...My left ear. since that night I've had mild disconfort and recently started noticing that I hear a crackling sound like a broken speaker. When I listen to music in my car it's the worst, not so much in pain but discomfort. Is this the road to hearing loss?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.No- this is not a road to loss of hearing.
This looks to be an infection of the middle ear.
Three weeks is a long time and it looks that the courses were not taken properly.
Get an opinion of an ENT Surgeon, go for ENT Endoscopy, and Audiometry...
Get a proper course of antibiotics, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory medicines with decongestants orally and in the nose., steam inhalation.
