What Do You Suggest For Nose Bleed And Swelling After An Injury?

Hi

My 22 month old child fell this evening on his face. He was carrying some toys at the time. One side of his nose bled for about 10 secs and stopped and it seems to be swelling at one side (same side). There is a scrape at the side he seemed to have fell on. I thought by looking his nose had moved or was bent to one side but it could just be the bad evening light. He doesn't seem to be in pain as he stopped crying within 10-20 secs and went to bed no problem and is currently sleeping.

Could his nose be broken? Should I get it checked?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
first you must answer that whether your child had unconciousness or vomitting after the fall.If yes then need to ahow to neurosurgeon and to hospital as head injury needs to be ruled out.
Secondly if he was ok after the fall then you should see whether he has swelling on the face or not.It will always be better to get him examined by ENT specialist. Nasal bones specifically are very thin paper like, even if they get fractured they will unite.
I find this answer helpful
