What Do These Liver Test Analysis Results Indicate?
Sir, I have Triglycerides of 284, SGPT 90 and SGOT 61. I am not eating any fat foods and having some sort of exercise and I look very slim. About 1.5 years back i was suffered by pneumonia and admitted in hospital for 6 months. I am only 28 years old. what should i do.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. SGPT (ALT) is a specific liver enzyme which gets elevated in certain liver disorders. SGOT (AST) is also a liver enzyme, which gets elevated in certain diseases affecting liver along with SGPT. The values you have shared is about 2 to 3 fold increase than normal. Hence the cause for it needs to be evaluated. Also, triglycerides with 284 mg/dl is quite high. Past history for having treated for pneumonia might not have relevance to the test values you have shared now. Kindly quit smoking and alcohol intake if you are habituated to. Also consume low fat diet as fatty liver could be one of the cause that could be associated. Kindly get an ultrasound abdomen scan done to know the status of liver and gall bladder. Kindly consult Physician with the report for proper clinical evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
