Hi - I am a 54 year old female who has had a failed anterior cervical fusion, and then an anterior cervical fusion fixed with a plate & multiple screws to fix the failed one. I never was pain free but now the pain is out of control & it even feels as if something pings the side of my throat which makes me cough. I also had surgery on my lumbar. Left hemilaminectomy on L4 & L5. The pain there is also so painful it travels up into my ribs which causes me to lose my breath, & down my legs because it feels as if my legs are too weak to hold my body up any longer. I just got an MRI done on my cervical, thorasic & lumbar spine. here is the results: C3-4- slight broad posterior spondylitic protusion of disk which does not approach the cord & is not neurocompressive. C4-5- moderate broad posterior spondylitic protusion of disk which contacts but does not indent the anterior aspect of cord & produces a boarderline central canal stenosis. C6-7 - moderate narrowing of the intervertebral disk space with disiccation. Slight posterior spondylitic protrusion which does not approach the cord. Thorasic spine is fine. L4-5- There is a moderate borad posterior & bilateral intrafforaminal spondylitic protusion of thes disk which indents the anterior aspect of the thecal sac & results in a bilateral lateral recess stenosis. There is bilateral faacet reaction, moderate. L3-4- Broad posterior & bilateral intraforminal diskal pseudoprotrusion which indents the anterior aspect of the thecal sac & results in a moderate central stenosis of trefoil configuration crowding the nerve rootlets together. L3-4 & L4-5 - Moderate non-compressive rt & lt neuroforminal stenosis as well. L5-S1- broad posterior spondylitic protrusion of disk. I am taking anti-inflamatories, pain meds, athoritis meds. Please tell me in laymans terms what all this means. Thank you.
