I just received my reports - What does it mean?/
AEROBIC CULTURE & SENSITIVITY
Specimen‎ : ‎High vaginal swab‎
Method‎:‎ ‎Specimen was received in a sterile container was cultured on Blood ‎& ‎ MacConkey‎'‎s Agar‎ ‎
Microscopy‎:‎
Gram Stain ‎: ‎Pus cells ‎03 ‎- ‎04 ‎/ ‎hpf‎,‎       Gram positive bacilli ‎(‎resembling of Lactobacilli‎) ‎     No fungal elements seen‎. ‎

Gram positive bacilli, lactobacilli are normal bacterial Flora of vagina.
Lactobacilli are required to maintain acidic pH of vagina, this is a protective mechanism against invasion by other pathogenic bacteria.
The report is normal study except for few pus cells which indicates mild inflammation.
There is no need for concern
