What Do Sudden Dizziness And Shortness Of Breath Suggest?

I for a month now or more have been waking up in the middle of the night extremely short of breath have to sit up to sleep. I went to my family doc and she ran testing fearing heart failure but everything has came neg for that. but also I have experienced dizziness to the point of having to lay down before I fall down (room spinning) cold sweats and my wife says I am disoriented at times like making statements at 9PM at night that I am running late for work or who moved the furniture when I did so the night before

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dizziness and shortness of breath. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like middle ear infection , labyrinthitis , anxiety disorder , panic attack , anemia or side-effect of certain medicine . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , examination with otoscope along with hearing test , rotatory chair test and balance test . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with antibiotics , vestibular therapy . Doctor may also refer you top gastroenterologist for acid reflux problem .
