What Do Red Rashes On The Body Indicate?

I have itching swollen red patches over entire body at least once a week then my lips swell almost twice in size. The tip of my nose fells swollen also. What is causing this? Using allergy med and topical hydrocortisone helps stop the itching for a while.

Hello,

As per your query, you have symptoms of red rashes on the body which seems to be due to an allergic reaction and contact dermatitis and due to constant allergen exposure condition is getting exaggerated.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you maintain complete cleanliness and protect it from sun exposure. You should give cold compresses to red rashes several times a day to prevent swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like Benadryl.

If the symptoms still persist, then consult a dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. The doctor may perform a skin test and may prescribe a steroid cream and anti-inflammatory medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
