What Do Red Lumps On Palate Indicate?

I have two red lumps on my palate. One is larger and soft, think blister-like almost. the other is circular and small and hard. Both are tender and painful. Sac like one seems like it may become bigger and definitely more painful at night. I tested positive and currently have influenza as of 3 days ago, the bumps happened about two days ago. Hoping they could just be consequential to that but I am scared it is something more serious. I use smokeless tobacco regularly for about a year.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Painful and tender bumps on palate with tested positive for influenza looks like Abscess secondary to infection..
Other cause can be inflamed minor salivary glands post infection.
You need not to worry as they will resolve once the infection subside.
However, it will be better if you send me images of the bums for a better understanding of the lumps..
For now you can gargle with Lidocaine mouthwash to reduce pain.
Take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and inflammation.
If you are down with fever then you can take a combination of Acetaminophen with Ibuprofen.
Do warm saline gargles and also chlorohexidine mouthwash gargles..
Avoid using tobacco to prevent further irritation and pain..
Do not worry as it is not cancerous as it has happened just 2 days back due to infection..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
