What Do Red Bumps Under The Tongue Indicate?

I have tiny red bumps under my tongue only and the frenulum under my tongue is swollen and has tiny red bumps on each side. I have also noticed the veins under my tongue swell and become darker. I am a smoker but never noticed this before. My underside of tongue just started bothering me yesterday any idea on possible causes or things I can do to keep the pain and discomfort down

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain it seems that bumps under the tongue with swollen frenulum and soreness can be due to burning with hot foods or chemical substances like concentrated mouthwash solution, it can be due to allergic reaction, trauma caused with any sharp or hard foods, apthous ulcers, viral infection causing cold sores etc..

Nothing to worry as it is not looking like anything serious..

First of all I would advise you to stop smoking as it can exaggerate the condition due to heat and chemicals..

I would suggest you to start doing warm saline gargles and if there is soreness, pain and discomfort you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
You can suck ice pops and take Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and pain..
You can also take a soft diet and avoid hard, spicy and sharp foods..
Sip on plenty of cool water throughout the day..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
