What Do Pressure And Swelling In The Jaws Indicate?

Recently, I ve had an issue with my right jaw swell and feeling a lot of pressure but no pain while eating. Takes at least 30 minutes for the swelling to start going down but almost two hours before it goes back to looking normal. Feels sore after swelling is gone but if I try to eat several hours after that it happens again. First time was August 6th, 4 or 5 days later, it happened again. And then again today. Ate the same thing last night as I did today and nothing happened last night but today I looked like I got stung by a swarm of bees! What could be the cause? Forget It!!!!! I ll got see my doctor!!!!!!

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern. As you said the swelling is increasing and decreasing with respect to food conditioning. That means you have a block in one of the salivary gland duct. Most probable one is submandibular gland as per your history.

To clearly get diagnosis, you need to take any of citrus fruits if it increases dramatically with it you have duct blockage.

Some times if it is a small stone it comes out of pressure of saliva created whole having citrus fruits like lemon or orange.

If it persists and you start feeling different taste in your mouth you need to go for a sialograph.

Hope my answer will help you and also provide your feedback too.

Regards.
