What Do Pain And Swelling On The Right Side Of The Nose Indicate?

I have had a swelling-red and some pain, starting on the right side of the nose and then moving across the nose and up to the eye cavity, then across the bridge of the nose to the other eye. As the swelling moved the previous location appeared to return to normal, although the eyes have been very slow to resolve. The NP I saw for treatment stated she had not seen or heard of anything like this previously, meaning the movement. Treatment of antibiotic and steroid for inflammation seems to be improving symptoms. Do you have any knowledge of such symptoms? Thank You.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The common issue here is cellulitis following some follicle infection around the nose area.
* I would like to have a clinical photograph of the swelling in follow up for further guidelines if you wish.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
