What Do Pain And Swelling On The Face Indicate?

i started fluorouracil treatment on my face on Monday--using twice a day per doctors instruction. By Thursday my face was so swolen and so much pain I had to stop treatment. I still have swelling in both eyes and eyelids to the point one is almost closed. What can I do to reduce swelling since it does not seem to be getting better?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction to fluorouracil.
I suggest you to take antihistamines daily.
If you dont get better you should take prescribed corticosteroids.
You can also go to the emergency room for further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
