Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical experience, there can be acute muscle or tendon spasm with inflammation giving pain and swelling.
* Primary relief with heating pad application, analgesic with anti inflammatory actions, local analgesic spray or ointment till you meet the doc for further line of action with x-ray or MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
