What Do Pain And Numbness In The Right Leg Indicate?

Have had lower right calf / leg pain for over a year. sometimes foot will go to sleep, and lower calf hurts most of time. walking does not seem to help or hurt, but pain gets worse if I do different movements like cleaning car, or stepping on a ladder. Had PT once for IT band and PT again for leg and lower back. My PCP isn t concerned about it, the last Orthopedic doctor I went to thought it might be my lower back . Not sure if I should go to a Orthopedic or back specialist

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the issues can be of multiple factors
as

- Issues with deep venous circulation
- Proximal nerve compression at the segmental nerve supply
- Problems with trace elements as calcium, zinc, copper, magnesium or
others
- Other musculo skeletal lesions

* I recommend a thorough evaluation with expert neuro physician
rather than orthopedic specialist.

Thanks.
Regards.
