What Do Pain And Numbness In Legs After An Abortion Indicate?

Hi i had an abortion 14 days ago. They said it was complete as all pregnancy tissue came out in one go completely intact in sac. I had severe stomach pains and couldn t move yesterday and still bleeding. Dr put me on antibiotics in case its an infection. Today and yesterday (but didn t think too much of it at the time i went drs) my legs are achy and numb, feel heavy and dead and if i stand for too long cause a lot of niggeling pain especially in my calf s. What do you think it is? Should i go bk to the dr? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The nagging calf pain and numbness in legs indicate low levels of hemoglobin ( anemia ) due to blood loss.

* In my clinic, I do recommend high protein and iron diet with iron preparations in terms of oral capsule or injectable iron preparations if hemoglobin is substantially low level.

Immediately consult your OBGY and get a hemoglobin test done for best recovery ahead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
