Question for optomologist : I am 74 yrs. old and last exam. was 2007. i can see wery clearly close up with glasses. I do have cataracts. but my main concern is the findings of the eye test done. i am scheduled for surgeryon7/28/16.but very concerned about the following ressults and wondering should i do more consultation before cataract surgery 1 Nuclear sclerosis, bilateral 2 Anatomical narrow angel, bilateral I didn t anticipate other complications. wandering should I seek another opinion ? or get more information from my doctor?
As per my surgical experience, the narrow angle of eye suggest alterations in the intra occular pressure which may be due to excess formation of aqueous humor, inadequate drainage through some blockage at canal of Schlemm or others.
I would quote a second opinion definitely before the cataract surgery as another parameters are needed to be evaluated with intra occular pressure and others.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
