What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?

Hi, thank you in advance for your help. I had a urine test done and my WBC was 20-25 however the urine culture was negative. I started taking Doxycycline and Metronidazole for 3 days now but I still have a burning sensation, its not too bad but I m not sure what is going on. Could you kindly advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on the urine test result, it can be stated that you could be having urinary tract inflammation in the form of urethritis, based on the presence of WBCs in urine. Since culture is negative, it could have been managed by conservative treatment.
However, since you have started with the antibiotics, you need to complete the course by taking it for 5 days.
Drink good quantity of water and fluids in the form of tender coconut water and citrus fruit juices. Keeping the urine alkaline by consuming Syrup. Citralka would also be helpful.
Gradually, your symptoms should improve and and you should get better.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
