What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?

Hi, I recently had an abdominal USS which reported fatty changes within the liver, but not enlarged. No evidence of ductal dilation or any focal lesions. Gallbladder has 3 polyps with an average size of 4mm at the posterior bed. Pancreas showed mild ductal prominence, measuring 3mm at the body, otherwise pancreas is normal. CBD is within normal limits. 1. would you recommend I pursue having my gallbladder removed? 2. is the ductal prominence in the pancreas a concern? 3. what is CBD I am 62 years old and have just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I am 5 3 and weigh approx 14st. Jean

Hi,

Diabetes can cause increased level of cholesterol and triglycerides in the body which can cause fatty liver but don’t worry with medicines you can control at your stage.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
