What Do Itchy Bumps Behind The Neck Indicate?

Hi, I am black and have these tiny bumps at the back of my head just above the posterior neck. Over the past two years I have received prescriptions for hydrocortisone and clindamycin phosphate gel topical applications. The bumps decreased but as at now, it appears to be growing again while being itchy. What can I do to totally get rid of these embarrassing bumps. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have read your query & the itchy bumps behind the neck usually occur due to tropical climatic conditions.

Wear loose-fitting cotton clothes (avoid rubbing from fabrics) & stay in a cool, well-ventilated area(avoid sun allergy). Use medicated soap, wash 3-4 times daily.

Eat veggies, berries & fruits avoid non-vegetarian food (food allergy). Do not scratch, they may cause scarring & complicate to keloids. Change your mattress to avoid bug bites.

If the medications you have been taking are not working, visit a dermatologist you might need corticosteroid injections.

Get physically examined for you may be evaluated for compression therapy, cryosurgery/ laser therapy, excision, etc. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take plenty of water to flush out toxic contents out of your body.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
