What Do Hot Flashes After Stopping Birth Control Pills Suggest?

I am 50 and one half years old and just stop taking birth control pills. I have taken them for 30 years. It has been just over 3 months and have not had a period. Can't seem to lose any weight and the hot flash's are bad. Did the pill keep me from knowing I was going through menopause and if so would it be safe to keep taking them if they did in fact keep the hot flashes away. I do not smoke.

Hot flashes are due to release of increased amount of LH in blood stream and it just indicates ensuing menopause!

For confirmation and follow-ups, you need serial measurements of LH/FSH ration.

It is a normal or physiological phenomenon and not to worry at all!

wish you good health...
