General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Flank pain and swelling might possibly due to Glomerulonephritis(inflammation in the kidneys) or Pyelonephritis( bacterial infection of kidneys). Urine analysis and culture, urinary proteins, RBCs are required to be done for initial evaluation.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider. Do not start antibiotics until the diagnosis is confirmed.

Hope this answers your questions
Please let me know if you need further clarifications
