What Do Elevated Liver Enzymes And Severe Stomac Ache Indicate?

My husband has had bad stomach pain on his upper right side and back. His liver tests are high, AST 147 ALT 433 and ALK PHOS 128. He had his blood redrawn today by a GI doc. Can you please tell me what the possible answers could be from his Doc tomorrow?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Elevated liver enzymes and stomach pain are commonly seen with hepatitis.
So he should be tested to identify the cause of hepatitis and other liver functions to see if they are deranged or not.
So blood tests ordered by gastroenterologist are mostly Hepatitis A virus, Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis C virus, Hepatitis E virus and detailed liver function test (albumin, protein, Bilirubin, CBC).
He should also get done ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule out hepatomegaly.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
