I'm charting my BBT and I have a question about what is a clear and sustained thermal shift? Temp went from 96.48 Wednesday to 97.58 Thursday to 97.33 Friday to 97.86 Saturday, 97.86 Sunday and finally 97.73 Monday. I still had clear CM on Thursday and Friday...did I ovulate on Wednesday when it was 96.48 OR did I ovulate on Friday when it was 97.33?
Hello and welcome to HCM, During temperature charting, clear and sustained thermal shift means that ovulation occurs when there is shift in temperature and the shift is sustained. There is definite increase in temperature on Wednesday and thereafter the temperature remains sustained. However, the temperature has to be correlated with other observable parameters like change in nature of cervicall mucus and examination of the cervical mucus.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
