Hi,

You likely need a course of antibiotics to help heal these lesions. Intertrigo is a condition which tends to develop in these areas. It can occur in the groin, under the breasts or in the axilla.

It is due to heat, moisture and friction. Bacterial and/or fungal infections can also occur when intertrigo is present.

The antibiotics mentioned would help the bacterial infection but you need to reduce the heat, friction and moisture to effectively treat the intertrigo.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
