What Do X-ray Results Of Suspicious Reticular Lesions Mean?
i have an x-ray today and the result is suspicious reticular lesions what is this? do i have a tuberculosis? is that possible? i work in a medical ward for 1 year and 2 months and most of my patients has a respiratory problem what should i do? the radiologist suggested to take another view of x-ray
Hello Thanks for your query. There are hundreds of reasons for reticular abnormality on chest x-ray like tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, occupational lung disorders, interstitial fibrosis, even pneumonia etc. For proper evaluation of a reticular abnormality a high resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scan is really essential to have an idea on probable etiologies. Hospital acquired infections like TB, pneumonia may cause such lesion in many cases. You should have a sputum examination and a HRCT scan for better evaluation. Thank you Dr Arnab Maji
