What Deficiency Can Cause Numbness In The Extremities?

My mother and her sister needed blood transfusions in their 80 s. My mother was diagnosed with melodysplacia and also got iron transfusions. When I was in my late 30 s, my red blood cell results were determined as enlarged in a blood test. I m 67 and have numbness and tingling in my extremeties. I have had total hip replacement in 2016 and recently consulted a back surgeon. They both ruled out skeletal problems and thought it might be a deficiency. What deficiency would cause my symptoms?
