What Could Tubes Used To Drain Acid From Heart Suggest?

A friend of mine was involved in a drowning, pulled out, administered cpr and then taken to nearest hospital. The latest news is that he has a tube to drain acid from the heart and unresponsive at e.r.. Could you explain more in laymens terms about the draining.

hi
drowning can cause entry of water in the lungs as well as in the stomach.
to drain the water from the stomach, ryle`s tube or nasogastric tube is inserted.
if breathing is obstructed or stopped in unconcious patients endotracheal tube is inserted in the trachea.for artificial breathing.
resusication & cpr is the first line of line of treatment
hope he survives from the event,
