What Could The Lump In The Neck Be?

My husband 44 year old none smoker has a lump growing in his neck, various tests done, most recent a part of his tongue was taken for biopsy, consultant unwilling to commit, is this a case where a lymphnoma would be a good result as I'm worried it could be worse that that?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Lump is the neck can be enlarged lymphnode due to reactive hyperplasia, tuberculosis, lymphoma or metastatic carcinoma. Or it can be some soft tissue tumor like lipoma. He should go for fine needle aspiration cytology or biopsy of that lump.
It will give you exact diagnosis.
Then you should take treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
