What Could Sudden Rise In Heart Rate With Numbness And Dizzy Spells Suggest?

Hi, my name is joe. Roughly 3.5 hours ago, i was sitting in my garage as i do every night. I had just turned off the video games, and began searching for a movie on netflix. For some reason, i dont know why, my heart rate started getting alarmingly faster. It was heavy, fast, and made it feel as if my chest was tightening up with it. A wave of numbness shot out from my chest, which lasted about 3-4 seconds. It felt like a wave going from my chest, to the top of my head. I got instantly confused, and either i couldnt hear my friends talking next to me, or i just was not able to pay attention to it during that time. my vision was blurred, it kinda felt like i was hit in the head, without any acual pain in the head. Numbness and dizziness stayed for about 5 minutes, while my left elbow, and fingers felt tingly, and weak. I am still confused feeling, and my chest is still tight. my elbow, and my fingers are still a bit numb. they almost feel as if i need to crack them, or stretch them badly. I cant really afford to go to a doctor, even with the insurance i have. Im hoping to figure out what this is, and hopefully find a cheap method of preventing it in the future, unless its important i see a doctor for it.

Hello,

It looks like you have developed a cardiac problem, it could be Angina(since you felt the tightening of the chest) associated with Sinus (Ventricular) Tachycardia. You should get physically examined. Get Lipid function tests, CBC, X-Ray, ECG, Echocardiography, CT, MRI done.

Since you have symptoms of stroke, dizziness, numbness, weakness, fatigue, confusion, vision problems you need immediate medical attention. It can be life-threatening. Visit ER, get evaluated & get treated at the earliest. In the meantime stay away from oily food, sedentary lifestyle, follow healthy diet. Maintain healthy triglyceride & cholesterol levels, exercise regularly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
