What Could Sore Throat With Stomach Pain Post Intercourse Suggest?
Hello. I am trying to figure out why my throat and stomach are hurting. I recently had oral and regular intercorse with a new partner...unfortunately, it was unprotected. The next day my throat was very sore...it feels like strep throat...the achiness, the temperature, the swollen throat and it hurts to swallow even water. I am scared.
The commonest cause I can think about is upper respiratory infection caught from close proximity with a new partner. This gives viral or even bacterial infection. The swallowing of infected material can cause pain in abdomen and may lead to nausea, vomiting or loose stools. So watch for any new symptoms also.
Consult your doctor immediately for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations of throat swab, of blood. Get an appropriate course of antibiotics, Metronidazole, anti-inflammatory medicines with painkiller and anti-pyretic (that controls fever also). Liquid Povidone Iodine Gargles. Take bed rest. Avoid such interactions or take proper protective care next time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
