What Could Red, Raised Bump With Ring Around It Indicate?

About a week and a half ago I got what I thought was a bad bug bite. It looked like a mosquito bite but it was pussy. It didn t really itch or hurt a lot. It slowly scabbed over and a red, raised ring formed around it. Now it is just my white skin color in the middle with a ring around it. What is it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to ringworm infection. I suggest to send a photo to confirm the diagnosis. I recommend using an anti fungal cream for local application such as Clotrimazole cream. I also suggest using Fluconazole 150 mg as oral treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
