What Could Recurring Bouts Of Hot Flashes And Hard Chills While Having Neuropathy Indicate?

Yes. My 77-year old father is having alternating bouts of hot flashes (he soaks his clothes with sweat) and hard chills. He has extreme neuropathy in both feet and muscle pain in the front of the thigh then the muscles pain switches to the calves. He has almost constant muscle twitching in his calves and uncontrollable bending of his big toe (but not all the time like the twitching). In past 6 weeks has lost 15 pounds, extremely weak (stays in bed mostly), and becomes easily fatigued. He is being treated for diabetes with insulin and had prostate surgery/radiation for cancer five years ago. Thank you for your time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I would really like to concern about bad health of your old age father. Weight loss and weakness might be due to his uncontrolled diabetes and cancer itself. you must consult your doctor to check whether cancer is recurring and do accordingly. For Neuropathy you can give vitamin tablets.
