I have a raised pus filled bumb on my labia and I am not sure what it is or what to do about it. I thought it was a pimple and tried to pop it only blood came out. It hurts when you touch it and it doesn t bother me until I clean myself after using the bathroom.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

A physical examination will be required as the location of the bump warrants it. Sexually transmitted infections like herpes will have to be ruled out and conditions like Bartholin's cyst and folliculitis will also have to be considered and adequately ruled out.

In the meantime, you can apply a warm compress to the region several times a day to promote healing. Also, avoid sexual contact completely.

Best wishes.
