What Could Pin Prick Red Dots On Torso And Hairline Suggest?

My college age daughter was home yesterday and noticed several small bug bites on her, a few on her legs but several on her torso. Not very itchy, which is unusual for her, since mosquito or flea bites lead to huge bulls eye lumps when she gets bit? Today she called me and said she now has many more pin prick red dots all over her torso and a few around her hairline, but they don t itch. She has lots around her bra line, but none between her thighs, which leads me to think it is not a heat rash. She has no fever and does not feel ill, though she got over a bad cold about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Any ideas?

Dear worried father,
This doesnt appear like a bug bite. Your daughter is having this trouble because of the cough she had 2-3 weeks ago. Sometimes the streptococcal infection causes a delayed reaction which leads to pin point bleeding in hair follicle roots specially at points of friction, even friction with clothes like bra and pany elastics. I suggest your daughter meet a GP as she may need a short course of steroids to tide over this delayed hypersensitivity reaction.
