What Could Painful, Bleeding, Sore Spot At The Top Of Anus Indicate?

I have a sore red spot at the top of my butt crack. I thought it was a pimple because it was bleeding the other day. But it just looks like a cut. Now it s kind of inflamed. I ve tried peroxide to keep it clean and this evening I put thrills antibiotic ointment on it. Do you know what it could be? I can t sleep on my back and it hurts to sit in chairs.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a sore spot at the top of butt crack that is painful and bleed along with pain on sleeping on back seem to be a Pilonidal cyst that has ruptured and become a Pilonidal Abscess..

It occurs commonly due to trauma in the area or can be due to ingrown hair or bacterial infection in that area.

I would suggest you to consult a Procologist or a General Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation is generally sufficient to confirm the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised to take a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers and apply antibiotic and steroid ointment..
At times Incision and Drainage can be advised..
