What Could Numbness In Toe With Discoloration And Bumps On Finger Nail Mean?

Hello, i've had this numb feeling in my big toe for about a month but i didnt give it much attention, today when i put on my sneakers i noticed i could feel my nail on my shoe, i took it off and under my nail i have this large bump that is raising my fingernail. my nail looks white and discolored has some purple around the edges. it does not itch, its not red and doesn't hurt it all. i have a tingling sensation and its completely numb. what could this be?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

Numbness in toe could be most commonly due to vascular problems where there is decreased blood supply to the peripheral toes and fingers and is common in chronic smokers. I suggest you get the toe tested by a surgeon to rule out vascular abnormality.
Nail discoloration with ooze and pain suggest paronychia which is infection of nail and nail bed. This infection can be caused by bacteria or fungi. I suggest you get a swab and nail specimen tested for bacterial and fungal culture and get appropriate therapy based on the test results.
For now I suggest you keep your feet clean and avoid tight shoes.
Get surgical consultation as soon as possible.
Thanks.
