What Could Light Brown Discharge With Swollen Breasts Post Sex Indicate?

I had unprotected sex on August 10, although I m not sure if anything got inside of me. Because I had a blood clot in my brain 2 years ago, I cannot be on normal birth control and I had continuous bleeding on the Depo shot. Just to be on the safe side, I took a generic plan b (same active ingredient) about 20 hours afterwards. I ve had mild cramping and breast tenderness since taking the pill and starting 2 days ago (9 days after taking the pill), I ve been having very light brown discharge and I was supposed to get my period yesterday. The main part that worries me is that my breasts are very swollen and I m not sure if that s due to my period coming or if it s indicative of something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

All the symptoms you are exhibiting can be related to common side effects of using plan B and so I would not really be worried. Your menstrual cycle should return to normal within a cycle or two.

Best wishes
